We’re home! This is the simple sentence that characterizes Madonie.

Day 1: Arrival in Catania or Palermo

In order to visit Madonie, you can land in Palermo as well as Catania. We will pick you up at the airport and bring you to the booked hotel. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Arab-Norman Palermo

We will cross Maqueda Street with our guide and reach the Quattro Canti (Four Corners): break and explanation. In the same area we will find Piazza Pretoria, San Cataldo’s church and Martorana’s church. We will stop in order to explain each attraction.

Then, we will walk through Vittorio Emanuele Street, also named Cassaro (from the Arabic name Al Qasar). Here, it is mandatory to stop and visit the unknown but fascinating church of SS. Salvatore, a truly unique building.

We will therefore head towards the Normans’ Palace (Royal Palace). This Palace was built on the remains of Palermo’s first Punic settlements. Under Roger II’s reign, a beautiful chapel was built inside the Palace, the Palatine Chapel.

In the afternoon, our chauffer will pick us up and drive us to Monreale. Its Dome, dedicated to Santa Marina Nuova (the Virgin Mary), is coated in golden mosaic, realized between the 12^th and the 13^th century.

Day 3: Sicily between Africa and Magna Grecia

In the morning we will take you to Himera to show you the remains of the Temple of Victory. Subsequently, we will head towards Scillato, where we will introduce you to a cultivation of organic products.

Day 4: Madonie

Today we will explore the Madonie Nature Reserve and delve into the authentic soul of Sicily, made of territory and people. We will savour the desserts Manna and Mannettino in Castelbuono, we will meet the Ventimiglia family and their agritourism that will offer us Madonie’s best products. Finally, we will take you to the most beautiful part of this territory – Cefalù, a charming and romantic seaside town.

Day 5: Returning home

After your breakfast we will reach the airport of Catania or Palermo. We are sure that you will have truly felt at home during these days in Sicily. Ciao, we hope to see you again very soon!
