Trapani salt ponds + Segesta with lunch and wine tasting experience
This excursion merges the breath-taking beauty of the unique landscape of Trapani’s salt ponds with the might of Segesta’s Greek temple, accompanied by the rich food and wine culture of this territory.
Initial meeting at the Trapani salt ponds at 10:00 AM. The landscape here is truly unique: windmills emerging from the water, surrounded by snow-white mounds of salt. You will have the exclusive opportunity to go for a swim in one of the salt ponds, and listen to the explanations of the salinaro (salt pond worker) about how simple table salt is produced starting from seawater. Then, we will have a nice boat ride around the waters that surround the salt ponds.
After this visit, we will head to Segesta, where we will enjoy a full lunch along with a wine tasting experience. One of these wines is the Marsala, a very sweet fortified wine, particularly suitable for the end of every good meal. This wine takes its name from the nearby territories where it is produced. In the afternoon, we will visit Segesta’s impressive Greek temple.
