Immersive hiking trip in the Madonie Natural Park: Orange tree forest with donkeys, rafting in Gorges of Tiberio and typical lunch

This is one of the most beautiful and exclusive excursions of our repertoire – an adventurous (yet relaxing!) exploration through the territories of Castelbuono and San Mauro Castelverde, with unconventional (yet affordable!) means of transportation.
Initial meeting in Castelbuono at 10AM. Upon our arrival, we will get off our minibus and meet our next means of transportation: a bunch of friendly donkeys, that you can ride, if you wish. With our placid steeds, we will cross a sweet-smelling orange-tree forest. This used to be an orange orchard, but has been abandoned more than one hundred years ago. The trees survived and grew taller and broader, and their delicious fruits are appreciated equally by human beings and donkeys.
The path through the forest will end at the entrance of the Gorges of Tiberio, a natural canyon crossed by the Pollina river. From here, we will yet again change our means of transportation and get on board of a raft, to experience a 1-hour-long river excursion. We will then head back to the entrance of the Gorges, where we will switch back to our donkey friends that will be quietly waiting for us.
The donkeys will take us back to our initial meeting point. We can finally rest now: a delicious typical lunch is waiting for us in a nearby restaurant.
